Orkin's candid photographs of actors and directors include Woody Allen, Lauren Bacall, Humphrey Bogart, Doris Day, Kirk Douglas, Lana Turner, Spencer Tracy, Orson Welles and many others. While she was on assignment shooting Marlon Brando on the set of "Julius Caesar," she wandered over to the set of "I Confess" and captured Montgomery Clift and Alfred Hitchcock. In 1950 Orkin was hired by Life Magazine to shoot the opening night of the play "Member of the Wedding," and at the party she immortalized Julie Harris, Ethel Waters and Carson McCullers.
